26TH SENATE DISTRICT (Allegan County, Van Buren County and a portion of Kent County)

Current senator: The current senator of the 26th Senate District is Sen. Tonya Schuitmaker (R-Lawton). The district features all of Allegan and Van Buren counties and Gaines Twp. and Kentwood in Kent County. According to the Senate Republicans, Schuitmaker serves as chair of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Higher Education and as a member of the Capital Outlay, Community Colleges, and Judiciary subcommittees. In addition, she serves as vice chair of the Judiciary Committee a member of the Energy and Technology Committee.
