2nd Senate District (A portion of Wayne County)

Currentsenator: Sen. Adam Hollier (D-Detroit) is the current senator for the 2nd Senate District. According to the Senate Democrats, the district includes all or some of the following jurisdictions: Detroit City, Grosse Pointe City, Grosse Pointe Farms, Grosse Pointe Park City, Grosse Pointe Woods, Hamtramck City, Harper Woods City, Highland Park City and Village Of Grosse Pointe Shores.

According to Hollier's campaign website, Hollier became district director for former state Sen. Buzz Thomas in 2004. He also served as chief of staff for Sen. Bert Johnson from 2009 to 2012. Johnson is the former senator from the 2nd District. Hollier ran for the Michigan House in 2012, losing in the primary election. Hollier won the Senate seat in a special election in November 2018.
