Current representative: The current representative for the 42nd District is Rep. Ann Bollin (R-Brighton Township). The district includes the city of Brighton and the townships of Brighton, Genoa, Green Oak, Hamburg and Putnam, according to House Republicans. Bollin previously served as the Brighton Township clerk.

Rep. Bollin was elected to the Michigan House in 2018, taking office in 2019.
